Don’t forget about these things that may come up in January and have an effect on your budget!
Utilities bill
Baby it’s cold outside!!! January is one of those cold months that you just anticipate a higher bill for. Plan ahead so you’re not trying to pinch pennies to make that payment.
Calendars and/or planners
It’s a new year and that means calendars and planners start over. Make arrangements to make sure you’ve set aside money to purchase a new calendar. I used to never be a planner user, but since I started my debt-free journey in 2017, it’s easier to track my meal planning, appointments, payments coming out, etc.
Fitness memberships
January is the month that everyone is making physical new year’s resolutions. This includes gym memberships, personal trainers, home equipment, fitness apps. Don’t forget to include this in your budget.
Christmas sales
It might come as a surprise, but January is the month that lots of Christmas items go on sale! In the market for a new Christmas tree? January is the cheapest month to buy a new tree. Save up and be ready.
Christmas
Even though the holidays just passed, Christmas is only 11 months away! Whether you’re planning on doing a sinking fund or buying gifts throughout the year, NOW is the time to get ahead. Christmas comes around every December. Don’t let it sneak up on you this year.
